Fonda takes charge with a wink and a smile!
As I was excited to know Jane Fonda was coming back to film, I couldn't
wait to see this, despite the fact that her co-star is that wretched
tramp J.Lo. Indeed, this film delivers most of its promise as Fonda
takes charge with a wink and a smile. It's no secret that the film is
pretty much a female version of "Meet The Parents", only it has more
intimate portraits for the other people involved. Jane Fonda still
sparkles all over the screen. At 67, she is still stunning, and
completely charismatic, with another great power-house performance to
please all they who have missed her. I only hope she will work more for
us! She is a fantastic woman. Jennifer Lopez was, as usual, a fake, lie
of an excuse for a good-girl role. I say lie because she was nothing
like her character, and anyone in their right minds can see right
through her as the same rear-shaking, cleavage- baring, tasteless fool
she has always been. It's very insulting that she was able to work with
such class as Jane Fonda, and Elaine Stritch. Wanda Sykes is also good.
In any case, the comedy that the fellow stars provide, is enough to
cover up Lopezs' bad acting. Other than that, the only flaw would be
familiar routine subplots, but with real women such as Fonda
around...who cares? At least Lady Jane was worth every bit. 7/10
