Don't mess with Gadget !!
Ok, so this movie was made for children, but obviously not those children who actually grew up watching the cartoon (like me). I wonder if the creators ever watched it, since they got just about everything wrong. Lets start with Dr. Claw and his face, his face ?! Yes, it was always kept hidden from the viewers in the series. Here we get to see it in the first scene. When did Gadget become so smart? There's Penny, his niece, she used to be the real inspector in the series, because Gadget was just a mindless idiot. And Brain, his dog, who had to save Gadget from the bad guys over and over for the same reason. That's where most of the comedy came from in the old days, instead we get some CGI-slapstick and not all that funny if you ask me... and where are Dr Claw's henchmen ? Exactly, nowhere. Madcat is dubbed Sniffy. Chief Quimby suddenly hates Gadget, not because of his stupidity, but because he believes his police force is going to be replaced by Gadget-like cops ?! Oh yeah, they also felt it was necessary to explain how the inspector got his gadgets and that he used to be a security-guard called John Brown before that - why ? perhaps kids today are not allowed to have any imagination? So you didn't see the cartoon - you should, they took an original and funny idea, then stripped it of everything that made it funny. The actors are certainly not to blame , they did a decent job. You can a) rent it and keep the kids busy for an hour or b) watch it yourself and have your chilhood toon memories butchered.
