"Everybody Loves Raymond" (1996)
USA / English
"America's first family of comedy begins their last season!
"It never stops for successful sports writer Ray Barone, whose oddball family life consists of a fed up wife, overbearing parents, and an older brother with lifelong jealousy.
Please explain it to me
In the UK we get to see a lot of US sitcoms. I've laughed out loud
some of them (Cheers, Soap, Bilko, Seinfeld, 3rd Rock, Scrubs, M*A*S*H)
enjoyed many of the rest (Frasier, Golden Girls, Friends, Taxi, Roseanne,
Grace Under Fire, Cosby, Drew Carey, Dharma & Greg, Cybill, Dream On,
Sanders, Ellen, Rhoda, ...).
So can someone please explain why this show is so successful? I've seen
about seven episodes of Everyone Loves Raymond. It's OK. There are a few
funny lines. One episode where the wife enjoyed dancing with the brother
was pretty good. But Emmy nominations! Highest paid sitcom actor ever!
Please explain it to me.
