"The power of an immortal. The soul of a human. The heart of a hero. "A half-vampire, half-mortal man becomes a protector of the mortal race, while slaying evil vampires.
Another movie about vampires? Yes, but a pretty good action movie this time.
Who needs a story when you have a nice hero Blade (Wesley Snipes) and his
helping hand Whistler (Kris Kristofferson), a cool villain Deacon Frost
(Stephen Dorff), great action-sequences and a visual style that doesn't look
very familiar? I certainly don't.
Blade and Whistler are in a war against the vampires. Right before Blade was
born his mother was bitten by a vampire so Blade is half human and half
vampire. He has probably chosen the human side because he was helped by the

lust for blood. Blade's main enemy here is Deacon Frost, who has great plans
for vampires. One day Blade saves a woman, who looks like his mother, from
one of Frost's men and she teams up with Blade and Whistler. Since the story
is not the main issue, more a set-up for the action, I will not say more
Like I said the action is great, the visual style is great and the
characters are cool. For me a movie like this needs no more. Snipes does a
good job with the hero and Dorff makes the villain a little likeable as
well. If you can enjoy no story but great action 'Blade' works like the
