The Bros. (2006)
|USA / English
"The story of two young and hopelessly suburban white guys and their journey into the world of hardcore "gangsta rap."
A Very Funny Micro-Budget Comedy
Just stumbled on this out of the blue and found it very well done and
laugh-out-loud funny in many parts. The two brothers are so utterly
clueless they cannot help but charm you. The ultra low budget is
visible at times and the camera work is a bit weak, but the movie has
lots of heart and laughs to make up for it. All in all, a far better
film than many big budget Hollywood comedies which have utterly no
heart and soul. Bros. has soul and then some. I was reminded at times
of the Joseph Minion-scripted and Martin Scorsese-directed "After
Hours," which had the same spirit of manic frenzy to it. Hope to see
lots more from writer/director Figg.
