Why Nobody Watches Veronica Mars
It's simple really: the comments on how good the show is are just not
what most people think of the show. Most people think, as I do, that
Veronica Mars is not a good show.
It's only a "replacement to Buffy" inasmuch as it features a blonde
actress (and Bell is much better than Gellar at that) and both are
under-performers who keep getting renewed in spite of failing ratings.
Actually, Veronica Mars' rating are even worse than Buffy's ever were,
which is saying a lot.
The show itself is un-original, trite, pretentious and generally
laughable, with unrealistic characters and bad dialogue. Like Buffy, it
claims to be a "portrait of teenagers" and like Buffy it fails so
completely as to only attract that small sliver of an audience that
just has to believe the hype in spite of all evidence to the contrary.
At least Buff had a few cool special effects, Veronica mars doesn't
even have that.
Look for the ratings next season to again place it in the Bottom 10 of
all networks, where it's established residence since its premiere.
